White King Champ-O-Rado (Chocolate Rice Porridge Mix) 227g

White King Champorado turns glutinous rice into a Filipino chocolate treat

Champorado is one of the best loved Filipino comfort foods, a thick rice porridge cooked with cocoa until it turns rich and deeply chocolatey. White King's mix uses glutinous rice and real cocoa powder to get that traditional sticky, spoonable texture without measuring out ingredients from scratch. It works just as well as a breakfast dish as it does a sweet snack, and it is a great way to introduce anyone new to Filipino products to a dish that tastes like nothing else on the shelf.

How to cook and serve champorado

Simmer the mix with water or milk, stirring regularly, until the rice softens and the porridge thickens to a rich, glossy consistency. Many Filipino families serve it with a splash of evaporated milk poured over the top and a few dried fish or tuyo on the side for a salty contrast, though it is equally happy eaten sweet and simple. If you fancy building out a wider spread, pair it with something from our soups collection or browse our dessert range for more Filipino sweets to go alongside it.
